| apply a thick layer of non-acetic silicone on the wall |

| spread the silicone over a surface that is wider than that of the border piece |

|
|
|
|
|

| remove any trace of former adhesive from the wall |

| apply a thick layer of non-acetic silicone on the piece |

|
|

|

| spread the silicone evenly over the piece using a paintbrush |
